What can I expect on my first visit?

A thorough history and physical assessment will occur. Your therapist will ask you questions pertaining to your present complaint and any relevant medical history. An objective assessment will be conducted to determine how you move and the pain associated with specific movement patterns. Other assessment techniques will be implemented tailored to your condition. Based on these findings, an individualized treatment plan will be developed for you. Pending on the time it takes to fully assess you, treatment may occur as well during your first appointment.

What type of treatment can I expect?

You will receive one on one therapist to patient interaction for the entirety of your session. This ensures that you receive the best care in terms of education and treatment. Treatments will be predominately manual therapy (hands-on) based with a mix of exercises, modalities (ex. Ultrasound, IFC etc.), acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation. The combination of treatment types will be determined based on your presenting problem. Please note you have the right to refuse any treatment you are uncomfortable with.

How many visits will I need?

This will be dependent on the root cause of your issue. Some may require fewer treatments if the injury is minor or new. Some chronic issues may require additional treatments to fully recover. You will be informed on the optimal number of treatments that may be required.
